Strolling right by the shore or straight through town. Both areas guarantee amazing views and wonderful shopping opportunities.

A crisp ocean breeze and the newest trends can be found at the shoreline of the Oslo fjord in Aker Brygge. The mixture of time-honoured shipyard buildings and modern architecture lend this lively in-district a special appeal. Our casual G.I.G.A. DX look suits this area equally well as Karl Johans Gate, the main and grand boulevard of Oslo. The boulevard’s namesake was the Swedish-Norwegian King Karl III. Johan. At Karl Johans Gate, the royal palace is supplemented by the cathedral, national theatre and the impressive Grand Hotel. Of course you can also enjoy shopping like royalty here, too.

The converted market hall makes you feel like you are in culinary heaven. Here you will find rows and rows of Norwegian and international delights packed together.

You are welcome to indulge – in Mathallen. The former volcanic foundry is a place for highly coveted delicacies. Here you can buy high-quality food directly from the producer. A number of Norwegian farmers can be found in Bondens. In addition to types of hams and cheese, other elk-delicacies are also presented here, of course. If you are up for it, you can sample different local specialities right on site at the different Mathallen shops.

Apart from trendy bars and pubs, original designer, vintage and second-hand shops invite you stroll through this area.

Cute little houses and spacious gardens are located by the Akerselva River, behind the historical industrial buildings. The popular trendy district features an astounding high density of student cafés, bars and clubs. So off you go in the cool hybrid jackets by G.I.G.A. DX. How about southern Italian dining culture in the high north? For that, the best place is the Villa Paradiso, which features a vintage style. The oven-baked pizza tastes like it was just made in Naples. An initial sample can be found on villaparadiso.no

The opera house opened in 2008 and is Oslo’s new landmark. At the same time, it has a great viewing platform. The quite modern Barcode district is right next door.

The Operahuset, Norway’s national stage for opera and ballet does not only offer excellent performances but its architecture is also impressive. The accessible roof of the opera house is a true delight – with a fantastic view of the city and fjord. The up-and-coming Barcode area is located beside it. The developing harbour is increasingly taking shape and is seen as the Eldorado for young architects due to its numerous new buildings and daring architecture.
